The MBMM Story

Jason Gaber and his father, Steve Gaber, founded Mt. Baker Mining and Metals (MBMM) in 2010.

Jason had been working at a small-scale hard-rock gold operation in Washington's North Cascades and needed a practical way to process ore at the mine site. When suitable industrial-grade equipment was not available at an attainable price, Jason and Steve began developing their own system.

Steve brought decades of engineering and invention experience. Jason brought a background in geophysics, underground hard-rock mining, and mineral processing. Together, they developed an ore-processing system that incorporated crushing, milling, and a shaker table designed for fine-gold recovery.

Demand from the small-scale mining community led MBMM to expand into jaw crushers, hammer mills, shaker tables, and integrated material-processing systems. MBMM equipment has since been used in mining, printed-circuit-board recycling, scrap processing, and stone and concrete reduction applications.

Mining, Education, and the MBMM Community

MBMM's work extends beyond equipment manufacturing. Jason and the MBMM team document mining projects, equipment tests, mineral discoveries, ore processing, and metallurgical experiments for a large educational audience.

Those videos show the work behind many products offered through this store. Customers can often see the mine, mining season, recovery process, or equipment associated with the material they purchase.
